Child Protection & Safeguarding
Every child has the right to be safe. Our Child Protection program works to prevent harm and to respond with care when a child may be at risk.
Purpose
To raise awareness of children’s rights, strengthen the people around children, and ensure that concerns about a child’s safety are handled responsibly and in the child’s best interest.
Who this program is for
- Children who may be at risk of harm, neglect or exploitation
- Parents, caregivers and community members who want to keep children safe
- Schools, faith groups and organisations that work with children
How it works
- We raise awareness of children’s rights and safeguarding in communities.
- We help families and community members recognise signs that a child needs help.
- We respond to concerns carefully, guided by the best interest of the child.
- We work with the right services and authorities where a child’s safety requires it.
What to know
- Safeguarding is our first responsibility in everything we do.
- Concerns are treated seriously and confidentially.
- If you are worried about a child’s immediate safety, please contact us straight away.
