Child & Family Welfare

Keeping children safe and families strong

Adoption is one part of a bigger commitment. Our welfare work helps children thrive within loving families and communities, and helps families stay together wherever they can.

Most children thrive best within their own families. Much of our work is helping them stay there, safe, supported and loved.

How we work

Built on programmes, research and partnerships

Our welfare work doesn't stop at delivering programs. We study what works, and we bring in the partners and funding needed to do it well.

Research and learning

We conduct applied research on child and family welfare in Ghana. This includes needs assessments, formative and implementation research, and monitoring and evaluation of our own programmes and those of partners. We publish what we find where it is useful, and we share it with government, practitioners and funders who can act on it.

Partnerships and grants

We work with donors, foundations, research institutions and government agencies to fund and deliver interventions that have a credible chance of improving children’s lives. We bring the research design, the monitoring and evaluation, the on-the-ground relationships and the reporting discipline that funded work requires.

Our belief

Every family strengthened is a childhood protected.

When families are supported and communities are strong, children flourish. That's the change we work for, every day.
